Getting started

From new account to first managed update in about five minutes. No credit card, no site limits.

1. Create your account

Sign up free with your email address, confirm it, and create your workspace. A workspace holds your sites and can be shared with your team later.

2. Add your first site

Click Add site in the dashboard and enter your site's URL. Then pick an install method for the Geco Connector — the lightweight plugin that pairs your site with the dashboard:

  • Auto-install — enter an administrator username and password (or application password) and we install and activate the connector for you. Fastest for most sites.
  • Manual install — download the connector zip and upload it in wp-admin under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, then activate it. The site pairs automatically.
Site protected by two-factor authentication, a custom login URL or a strict security plugin? Use manual install — auto-install signs in the way a person would, and those protections will (correctly) block it.

3. Your first scan

As soon as the site pairs, Geco WPM runs its first full scan. Within a couple of minutes you'll see:

  • A complete inventory of plugins, themes and core, with available updates and known vulnerabilities flagged
  • A fresh homepage screenshot
  • An A–F security grade with the reasons behind it
  • Uptime monitoring, checking your homepage every 5 minutes

Full rescans run automatically every 6 hours, and you can trigger one manually from the site's page any time.

4. Your first update

Open the site's Plugins tab, pick something with an update available, and click Update. We record the version you were on first — so if anything misbehaves, open the update history and roll back to the previous version in one click.
